Palitaw Recipe

One of the food I discovered this summer was the yummy Palitaw. Yes, you heard that right. It’s my first time to sample it. Anyways, Palitaw is a small sweet flat rice cake eaten in the Philippines. And I know most, if not all, Filipino had tried it but in my defense I’m kind of picky when it comes to food and I don’t like the plain white look of it. But last April when I was in Don Salvador Benedicto in Negros Occidental I got a chance to try this kakanin and all I could say is — deliciouso!

Yes, as in Food magazine offers the easiest recipes ever, like the easy toaster oven recipes in their August 2010 issue. I so love it!

Anyways, I tried the toaster oven recipes and I could say it’s really good. It’s a great alternative if you don’t have a standard oven as it is easy and fast.

Chef Pitaya Phanpehnsophon also showed us how to make his signature salad and he also introduced us to Thai common spices like kaffir lime leaves and galangal.
